The iconic Balabushka Cue Company moved beyond the billiards world when it was introduced as a main story point in the Academy Award Winning film, The Color of Money, starring Paul Newman and Tom Cruise in 1986. Now, nearly 40 years after the film made cinematic history and propelled the Balabushka name into pop culture lore, the iconic billiards brand is teaming up with groundbreaking content creation company, Just Do GOOD Entertainment to launch a powerful, multi-platform partnership.

For the first time, Balabushka will offer exclusive branded merchandise to old and new fans alike. Designed in collaboration with Just Do GOOD Entertainment, Balabushka merchandise will include vintage-inspired apparel, accessories, and collectible items.

Launching this summer, a limited-edition line of Balabushka-branded merchandise will include vintage-inspired apparel, accessories, and collectible items. The rollout will be teased on Just Do GOOD’s national platforms and featured at billiards events, at red carpet premieres and in media outlets.

But the partnership goes beyond merchandise. Peggy Mallen, CEO of Balabushka and co-founders of Just Do GOOD, Monty Hobbs and Valerie Smaldone, just inked a deal between the two entities outlining a content creation collaboration about the Balabushka story.

Mallen, the heart of the Balabushka brand, has been a steward of the revered name for over two decades, steadfast in honoring its legacy, yet always aspiring to further grow the brand and embrace new generations of customers. Under her leadership, Balabushka has remained synonymous with craftsmanship and authenticity. Her dedication to preserving George Balabushka’s integrity is matched only by her drive to innovate and connect with today’s culture.

“This cue means more than the game. It represents loyalty, grit, and the stories passed from one generation to the next,” Peggy says. “We’re not just celebrating an anniversary we’re building something worthy of the name.”

The collaboration between Balabushka and Just Do GOOD begins with the announcement of the official Balabushka: The Color of Money 40th Anniversary Documentary.  Filming in the first quarter of 2026, this compelling documentary will highlight the humble beginnings of the Balabushka name and go on to celebrate its incredible integration in The Color of Money, exploring the brand’s deep roots in American craftsmanship and cue sport history. The film will be associated with a non-profit, providing exposure and fundraising opportunities to the chosen organization. In addition, Just Do GOOD will spotlight Balabushka as its subject in their second episode of the Telly Award winning series, Finding Kindness. Titled “The Color of Kindness” this episode will feature Balabushka and Peggy Mallen and will explore her belief in the importance of giving back. Peggy will be paired with a celebrity who is also known for their charitable nature.

Earlier this year, the always generous Mallen stepped in with a significant product donation to support fundraising for Air Angels: Flight Helene, Just Do GOOD’s upcoming series honoring aviation heroes. That donation will help benefit NCVOAD, a national disaster response volunteer network.

Balabushka and Just Do GOOD Entertainment move quickly. The first roll-out of merchandise will begin by mid-August, just in time for pre-Christmas orders.
